$300/CNTR!CMA CGM announced the implementation of the shipping industry's first "Early Return Container Incentive Plan"!

On May 12, CMA CGM Group announced that it will implement the shipping industry's first container early return reward program

to increase supply chain liquidity. $300 per container will be provided to help customers offset the cost.

The program, which is effective May 16 and runs through July 15, 2022, will be available at FMS Terminals in Los Angeles and all

delivery facilities in Chicago, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; Kansas City, Kansas; and Memphis, Tennessee. Fly back to the location to implement.

The goal is to expedite the return of empty containers and ensure more equipment is available to U.S. exporters. The plan calls for the container to be returned to an eligible location within 4 days. According to CMA CGM, the implementation of the 60-day incentive program is expected to bring about 43,000 dry containers back into circulation within four days of delivery.
CMA CGM said the shipping industry has experienced an unprecedented surge in demand that has caused severe congestion across North American supply chains. Exporters have been particularly hard hit by the challenge, with a lack of equipment making it more difficult for their goods to reach the market in a timely manner.
