The Port of Rotterdam, Europe's largest seaport, said on Tuesday that as international trade continued to recover from the COVID-19 downturn, the port's cargo volume increased by 15% year-on-year in the third quarter.

The port stated that in the first nine months of this year, trade flows into and out of Rotterdam increased by nearly 9%, with strong growth in almost all areas.

"These data show that the economy is continuing to move up. Factories, companies, and logistics are again going all out to meet the growing demand.

The port stated that strong consumer spending has pushed container freight back to pre-epidemic levels, while shipping prices have risen sharply.
