CMA CGM and Folk Maritime Forge Alliance to Launch NRX Route in Northern Red Sea

According to the latest information: on March 21st, the world's third-largest container shipping company, CMA CGM, announced that it had signed an agreement with Folk Maritime, a newly established container shipping company in Saudi Arabia, to jointly operate a new route in the northern Red Sea.

It is understood that the new route, named NRX (North Red Sea Express), will be operated by two smaller container ships providing weekly services, connecting Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt, in order to expand the logistics capacity in the northern Red Sea and consolidate Saudi Arabia's increasingly growing strategic position as a global logistics hub.

The new partnership between CMA CGM and Folk Maritime will begin in April, with the inaugural voyage of the NRX route set for April 9, 2024, departing from Jeddah port.

The port rotation for the NRX route will be: Jeddah RSGT – Jeddah DPW – NEOM – Sokhna - Aqaba – Yanbu – Jeddah RSGT.
