The Port of Los Angeles shipped 833,035 TEU in June

The Port of Los Angeles shipped 833,035 TEU in June, marking its best performance since July of last year. In June 2023, the import volume reached 435,307 standard containers, representing a 2% decline compared to the previous year. However, the loaded export volume reached 108,050 standard containers, showing a 15% growth compared to the previous year. The volume of unloaded empty containers was 289,679 standard containers, a 14% decrease year-on-year.

During the first six months of 2023, the port handled a total of 4.1 million standard containers, which represents a 24% decrease compared to the same period in 2022. On another note, the Port of Long Beach experienced its strongest month thus far in May 2023, raising hopes for a growth trend in container numbers in the mid-year.
